Kevin Fitz-Gerald - Piano

Kevin Fitz-Gerald, pianist. His performances have garnered international acclaim recognizing him for his “hypnotically powerful and precise” pianism and “dynamic and distinguished” interpretations. Concert tours and major performances have taken place throughout the United States, Canada, South American, China, Korea, Japan, Australia, Europe, the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. Mr. Fitz-Gerald’s concerts are frequently recorded for national and international radio and television networks and his CD recordings can be found on the Summit, Ivory Classics, Centaur, Quatro Corde, AFCM, Yarlung and GM Record labels. He has also recorded for the Yamaha Disklavier PianoSoft Series. His most recent solo recordings include works by Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Liszt and Steven Situm.

In constant demand as a chamber musician, he has collaborated with internationally renowned artists such as Stephen Isserlis, Richard Stolzman, Camilla Wicks, Midori Goto, Eudice Shapiro, Karen Tuttle, Anne Akiko Meyers, the Bartok, St. Petersburg and St. Lawrence String Quartets. For many years he was a studio pianist for many leading artist teachers of the 20th century including William Primrose, Lillian Fuchs, Zara Nelsova, Janos Starker, Zoltan Szekely, Lorand Fenyves and Marcel Moyse. He also regularly performs duo piano recitals with his wife Bernadene Blaha, appearing at prestigious festivals and concert venues.

Mr. Fitz-Gerald is Professor of Keyboard Studies and Keyboard 
Collaborative Arts at the USC Thornton School of Music in Los Angeles.

A winner of several prestigious competitions, grants and awards, he enjoys an international reputation as a teacher presenting master classes and lecture-symposiums. His students have been prizewinners in major piano and chamber music competitions; today, these students can be found winning competitions, performing, recording and teaching at many of the finest conservatories and universities throughout the world.
