Sergio Baietta

Sergio Virgilio Baietta is one of the most versatile pianists of his generation, awarded more than seventy national and international awards. He graduated under the guidance of Laura Palmieri, then obtained a Master’s degree in piano performance at the EF Dall’Abaco in Verona.

He made his debuts as a soloist playing the Rachmaninoff 2nd Piano Concerto with the Orchestra of the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza at the Teatro Municipal and with the Dell’arena Verona Philharmonic playing the Liszt Piano Concerto.

In Italy, he has performed at major concert halls in Verona, Venice, Florence, Viareggio, Turin, and Rome and has given concerts in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Great Britain, and Finland. He was applauded for his debut in Germany with a series of concerts in Fürstensaal, the Liszt Museum, the Palais-Saal of Weimar, and Leipzig with a monographic program on Franz Liszt.

With Jacopo Giacopuzzi, he established the Mephisto Piano Duo in 2011. They performed the Dante Symphony of Franz Liszt in the original version for two pianos with added voice choir in a multi-media experience with video projections and recitations from the Divine Comedy created by Vittorio Bresciani .
With director Andrea Battistoni and clarinetist Alexander Beverari, he formed Andrea Battistoni and the B-Side Trio - a series of cabaret music born from the desire to explore an alternative to the classical repertoire in a very original and humorous show.

He has performed in a trio with violinist Lucia Luque and cellist Andrea Battustoni at the Mozrt Festival in Roverto and Trento and at the Teatro Grande in Brescia. They had a highly successful tour of Portugal culminating in a concert at the prestigious Casa Da Musica in Porto. They recorded the Ravel Trio at the Live World Radio Vatican in Vatican City. Subsequently, the trio was invited to the Verona Contemporanea Festival where they performed the music of Frank Zappa arranged for classical trio.
