Carlo

Carlo Andrea Malanima has been a professional musician for over 25 years playing in many of the world’s renowned musical institutions including Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, Maggio Musicale Florentino, Orchestra della Toscana, Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazional di Santa Ceclia.
Carlo Andrea holds a life term position at Teatro Carlo Felice Orchetsra where he also plays associate principal viola.
He has served as Principal Viola in the orchestras of the Puccini Festival, Mascagni Festival, Verdi Festival Crested Butte Music Festival, and the Juliliard Orchestra.

As a chamber musician, he is one of the founding members of the Quartetto d’archi Modigliani with whom he has produced many recordings and concerts.

Carlo Andrea earned a National doctoral degree from the Italian Conservatory and advanced certificate in Music Performance from the Juilliard School where he studied as a Fulbright Scholar.

During his orchestra career, he has performed in some of the major concert halls of the world with acclaimed soloists and conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Ricardo Muti, Zubin Mehta, Loren Maazel, and Gustavo Dudamel.

Carlo Andrea currently teaches viola and performs with the Hawaii Symphony on Oahu.
